The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that the Democratic Republic of Congo is experiencing a serious outbreak of the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus, with 321 confirmed cases and 116 suspected cases as of the latest update. Death Toll and Recovery Rates
According to Christian Lindmeier, a spokesperson for the WHO, the outbreak has resulted in 41 fatalities. Despite the severity of the situation, there is a glimmer of hope as six individuals have successfully recovered from the illness, highlighting the importance of medical intervention and timely care.

In response to the ongoing outbreak, EU health ministers are set to convene for an extraordinary meeting via video conference this Friday. This meeting, announced by the Cypriot presidency of the EU, aims to discuss the latest developments concerning the Ebola virus in Central Africa.
