Exhibition Highlights Houthi Crimes in Taiz

Taiz, Yemen – Dr. Abdul Qawi Al-Makhlafi, the Deputy Governor of Taiz, inaugurated a photo exhibition today that documents the crimes committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias in the Taiz governorate. He was joined by Major General Abdul Aziz Al-Majidi, the Chief of Staff of the Taiz Military Axis.

A Reflection on Houthi Violations

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Al-Makhlafi presented a detailed overview of the Houthi crimes against civilians. He emphasized that these violations stem from deep-seated ideological roots and a profound animosity towards the residents of Taiz. The people of Taiz have historically resisted the imamate project, both in the past and present. Dr. Al-Makhlafi praised the efforts of the Moral Guidance Department and the Monitoring and Documentation Center for organizing the exhibition and reviving national memory.

The Importance of National Memory

Major General Al-Majidi underscored the significance of the exhibition in revitalizing national consciousness. He highlighted the resilience of the people of Taiz in confronting the ongoing terrorism and crimes perpetrated by the Houthis.

Engaging Discussion on Houthi Ideology

Following the exhibition, a seminar took place featuring a distinguished group of academics, legal experts, and journalists. Participants presented papers that explored the ideological roots of Houthi criminality, shared firsthand accounts of war crimes and sieges, and discussed the critical role of legal and media documentation in raising awareness and ensuring accountability. The seminar also highlighted the efforts of the Monitoring and Documentation Center in chronicling these atrocities.

This exhibition and seminar serve as vital platforms for raising awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Taiz and the importance of documenting their struggles.
