Libya Hosts 29th Session of the Arab Industrial Development Organization
The 29th session of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization, and Mining Organization’s General Assembly commenced in Tripoli, Libya. Delegates from 21 Arab nations attended the event, which featured the presence of the organization’s Director-General, Adel Al-Saqr.
Strengthening Arab Cooperation
During the opening session, Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh emphasized that Arab cooperation represents the most effective path toward sustainable development. He noted that economic integration has shifted from being an option to a necessity, driven by rapid economic changes. Dbeibeh urged participants to move beyond exchanging ideas and focus on building practical partnerships. He called for the launch of joint Arab initiatives and investments to stimulate growth and create job opportunities.
Addressing Economic Challenges
Ministers and heads of delegations underscored the importance of enhancing collaborative efforts to tackle economic and industrial challenges. They highlighted the need for improved cooperation in the fields of industry, standardization, and mining. In this context, they stressed the adoption of digital transformation and artificial intelligence as strategic options for modernizing the Arab industrial sector.
Launch of the Arab Industrial Indicators Platform
The opening session also marked the official launch of the Arab Industrial Indicators Platform, one of the organization’s key strategic initiatives. This platform aims to establish a unified Arab database for industrial indicators. It will support policy formulation, enhance decision-making, and provide accurate metrics for measuring industrial performance across Arab nations.
