Today, the city of Tarim in Hadhramaut hosted the conclusion of a training course focused on managing cases of diarrhea, specifically cholera. The course, organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, aimed to enhance the skills of healthcare workers in the region.
Over the course of two days, the training equipped staff from the Aidid Medical Center with essential knowledge and practical skills. Participants learned how to assess diarrhea cases, select appropriate treatment plans based on their evaluations, and manage children suffering from watery diarrhea or malnutrition.
Hassan Al-Duwaila, the Director General of Tarim District, emphasized the significance of the training in improving the capabilities and knowledge of the participants. He stated that such initiatives are crucial for effectively responding to emergencies.
Dr. Ghazi Bashamkha, the Director of Primary Health Care at the Health Office, highlighted that the course aimed to familiarize trainees with severe diarrhea cases and the best practices for handling them. This training is vital for ensuring that healthcare workers are prepared to tackle potential health crises in their communities.
This training course marks a significant step in strengthening healthcare responses in Hadhramaut, particularly in managing cholera and related health challenges.
