Authorities have discovered the body of a young boy in the Haysan district of Ba’dan, Ibb Governorate, more than a year after he went missing. This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving residents in a state of disbelief. The child, identified as Raad, was only a few years old when he disappeared, prompting a search that lasted over a year. Recent developments have unveiled horrifying details about his fate.
Local sources report that Raad hailed from the village of Al-Dar Al-Aswad. His body was found during an attempt by his father to dispose of it. Initial investigations indicate that Raad suffered violence, abuse, and ultimately murder at the hands of his father, who buried the body in an animal stable approximately a year and a half ago.
Despite the family’s claims of the child’s disappearance, the father attempted to exhume the body just two days ago, intending to discard it in a flood channel. This shocking act prompted a close acquaintance to report him to the authorities, leading to the revelation of the crime.
Law enforcement officials have arrested Raad’s father, and the remains of the child have been sent to a hospital for forensic examination. As of now, no official statements have been released regarding the incident, and the motives behind this heinous act remain unclear. The crime has instilled fear among the local population, raising urgent concerns about safety.
In recent years, areas under Houthi control have witnessed a significant increase in domestic violence crimes, including the murder of family members. This alarming trend stems from a deteriorating judicial system and a lack of accountability, transforming these crimes into a pressing issue that demands immediate attention. The government must implement effective measures to protect families and communities from such violations.
