Fatal Traffic Accident on Al-Abra International Road Leaves One Dead and 25 Injured

Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives in Hadhramaut

The Ministry of Public Health and Population has reported a tragic road accident that resulted in one death and injuries to 25 individuals, including women and children. The incident occurred last night on the International Al-Abra Road in Hadhramaut, when a passenger bus from Al-Barakah Transport Company, arriving from Saudi Arabia, collided with a heavy-duty truck.

Casualties and Medical Response

Dr. Abdullah Dahan, the Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, provided details to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba). He confirmed that one fatality was recorded at Al-Abar Hospital, involving a child, while five adult men also succumbed to their injuries. Additionally, five individuals remain in critical condition, including one woman, while 14 others sustained moderate to minor injuries.

Dr. Dahan emphasized that medical and emergency teams at Al-Abar Hospital and health facilities in the Wadi Hadhramaut region responded promptly. They administered first aid and medical care to the injured and transferred critical cases to hospitals in Seiyun for further treatment.

Ongoing Monitoring and Support

The Deputy Minister assured the public that the ministry is closely monitoring the health status of the injured. They are coordinating with local authorities and relevant agencies to ensure that necessary medical care is provided. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the deceased’s mercy and the swift recovery of the injured.

Dr. Dahan also urged for strengthened traffic safety measures and adherence to road transport regulations. He stressed the importance of protecting travelers’ lives and reducing tragic accidents on international roads. This incident highlights the urgent need for improved road safety protocols to prevent future tragedies. The Ministry of Public Health continues to advocate for measures that prioritize the safety of all road users.
