The national youth football team achieved a significant victory against Kuwait, winning three goals to one in a match held on Thursday at the Sports Complex in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This game marked the second round of Group Seven in the qualifiers for the Asian Championship finals.
Mohammed Shams Al-Din emerged as a standout player, scoring two goals for the national team in the 24th and 70th minutes. Additionally, Ziad Jihad contributed with a goal in the 85th minute. Kuwait’s only goal came from player Masfer Al-Adwani, who found the net in the 69th minute.
With this victory, the national team secured its first three points in the group, revitalizing its hopes for advancing to the next round of the tournament. The team now looks forward to its next challenge.
The national youth team will face Japan in their third match on Sunday, September 6. Meanwhile, Kuwait will compete against Cambodia in another group match.
The top team from each group will qualify for the finals, along with the seven best second-placed teams from the eight groups. This structure keeps the competition intense and offers multiple pathways for teams to secure their spots in the championship.
