In a statement released on X, CENTCOM confirmed that the blockade will begin on July 14 at 4 PM Eastern Time. U.S. forces will implement measures to monitor and control vessels heading to Iranian coastal areas or departing from them.

This decision comes after an initial phase of enforcement that lasted from April 13 to June 18. During this period, U.S. forces successfully redirected over 140 compliant vessels and disrupted nine non-compliant ships. Additionally, they allowed more than 50 commercial vessels carrying humanitarian aid to pass through the blockade zone.

CENTCOM urges all mariners to stay updated with navigational alerts. They should also communicate with U.S. naval forces via Channel 16, which is designated for direct communication among ships operating in the Gulf of Oman and the approaches to the Strait of Hormuz.
