On Thursday, the Subcommittee for Tenders and Bids in Lahij Governorate convened under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Turki. The meeting focused on the opening of bids for the rehabilitation and asphalting of the Al-Jamaheer Street in the Bir Omar area of the Tuban district. This project spans 300 meters along the main highway connecting Aden, Lahij, and Taiz.
Review of Bids and Project Approval
During the meeting, which included Deputy Governor Mohamed Salam and directors of relevant government facilities, the committee reviewed the proposals submitted by competing construction companies. After thorough evaluation, the committee approved the road project and forwarded it to the rehabilitation and analysis division for technical assessment and financial estimation. This process adheres to the provisions of the Government Tenders and Bids Law No. 23 of 2007, following the completion of the basic requirements outlined in the bidding documents.
Emphasizing Timely Project Completion
Governor Turki emphasized the importance of the contracting company’s commitment to completing the project within the agreed timeframe. He highlighted the need for compliance with the official requirements detailed in the bidding documents, including legal foundations, financial specifications, quantity schedules, and precise technical standards.

In a related development, Governor Turki also chaired a meeting of the Planning and Budget Committee. He stressed the necessity for all administrative units within the governorate to operate solely under the local authority’s leadership.
