Taiz, Yemen – Today, Governor Nabil Shamsan inaugurated the first specialized clinic for liver and urology transplants at the Cardiovascular Center in Taiz. This significant development marks a milestone in the region’s healthcare services.

A Milestone for Healthcare in Taiz

Governor Shamsan emphasized that this clinic represents a qualitative achievement for the medical center, which is the first of its kind in the country for liver transplants. The center has already successfully performed 112 kidney transplants and 1,200 open-heart surgeries, along with providing thousands of specialized medical services to citizens.

Transforming Vision into Reality

Governor Shamsan expressed pride in the center’s evolution from a mere concept to a fully functional medical institution. He attributed this success to the collaborative efforts of the government, private sector, and civil society. The presence of a qualified medical team, equipped with modern administrative and financial systems, has positioned the center as a medical pride for both Taiz and Yemen.

Commitment to Future Success

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the center in achieving further successes in treating cardiovascular diseases, kidney transplants, and liver transplants. He also promised to facilitate the expansion of the building and its medical services.

Project Development Overview

Dr. Abu Dharr Al-Jundi, the center’s director, outlined the project’s development stages. He highlighted how the idea transformed from discussion to reality, thanks to direct support from Governor Shamsan and the establishment of independent administrative and financial systems that helped overcome numerous challenges.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Dr. Al-Jundi noted that the liver transplant clinic is equipped with the latest diagnostic and surgical equipment, including an intensive care unit and a team of specialized consultants. The clinic is set to officially commence operations in the coming days. He praised the efforts of the government, local authorities, and the private sector in supporting the center’s growth and ongoing medical achievements.

This new clinic not only enhances healthcare options in Taiz but also sets a precedent for future medical advancements in Yemen.
