Supreme Judicial Council Reviews 2024 Accountability Report

The Supreme Judicial Council convened today in the temporary capital of Aden, under the leadership of Chief Justice Mohsen Yahya Talib. The council focused on the accountability report presented by the Deputy Chief Justice and Chairman of the Accountability Council, Judge Haidan Jumaan, for the year 2024.

Acknowledgment of Achievements

The council commended the efforts of the Chairman and members of the Accountability Council, highlighting their accomplishments over the past year. This recognition underscores the importance of transparency and accountability within the judicial system.

Judicial Immunity Lifted for Three Judges

In a significant decision, the council approved the lifting of judicial immunity for three judges due to misconduct. Additionally, Judge Ali Ali Mohammed Rishan has been appointed as the President of the Appeals Court in Marib, reflecting the council’s commitment to maintaining judicial integrity.

Judicial Reshuffle Across Several Governorates

The council implemented a judicial reshuffle in courts and prosecution offices across various liberated governorates. The changes are as follows:
