The Sudanese army successfully repelled a large-scale assault by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur. This confrontation marks one of the most intense clashes since the escalation of military tensions in the region.
Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, spokesperson for the joint forces of armed struggle movements, reported that allied troops effectively countered the attack from multiple fronts. This response followed extensive preparations and heightened military readiness.
The statement highlighted significant losses for the RSF, with a large number of their fighters killed during the battle. Additionally, the army destroyed dozens of combat vehicles, including armored units, and seized advanced military equipment.
Military sources confirmed that heavy artillery successfully destroyed six RSF vehicles. Intense fighting erupted in the southern sector of the city, as units attempted to breach defenses from various areas across Darfur.
This recent engagement underscores the ongoing conflict in Sudan and the challenges faced by the military in maintaining control over volatile regions. As the situation develops, further updates will be crucial for understanding the implications for both local and national stability.
