Council of Shura Discusses 2025 Agenda

The leadership of the Shura Council convened its regular meeting today, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Obaid Ben Dagher, President of the Council. The meeting also included the presence of his deputies, Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Abul-Ghaith and Engineer Wahi Aman. The primary focus of the discussion centered around the Council’s responsibilities for the upcoming year, 2025.

Importance of Clear Plans

During the meeting, Dr. Ben Dagher emphasized the necessity of developing clear and effective plans. These plans aim to enhance the Council’s role in supporting Yemen’s security and stability. The Council reaffirmed its commitment to the directives of the Presidential Leadership Council, led by Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi. The members discussed the need to restore state institutions to their effective roles across various sectors.

Addressing Political Developments

The meeting also addressed the latest political developments within the country. Participants discussed ongoing efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, as well as the challenges hindering these efforts. They highlighted the significance of regional and international support in fostering peace in Yemen, based on the three reference points that uphold the security, stability, and territorial integrity of the Yemeni people. Furthermore, they stressed the need for a unified stance to counter the Iranian-backed Houthi obstinacy.

The attendees underscored the importance of reinstating the effectiveness of state institutions as a fundamental step toward dismantling the Houthi coup.
