Prime Minister Visits "Right to Life" Institution for Children with Cerebral Palsy

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited the “Right to Life” institution for children with cerebral palsy in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. During his visit, he assessed the health conditions of the children and the services provided to them. He also announced financial support for the institution to expand its services and directed the establishment of a new headquarters to increase its capacity.

Celebrating Eid al-Fitr with the Children

Prime Minister bin Mubarak celebrated the upcoming Eid al-Fitr with the children residing at the institution. He distributed gifts and engaged with them about their daily activities and rehabilitation programs. The discussions included their health, mental well-being, and emotional support.

Success Stories and Rehabilitation Programs

Dr. bin Mubarak learned about several success stories from children who have overcome treatment challenges through the institution’s programs. Many have regained their ability to walk and reduced the effects of their conditions through physical therapy and surgical interventions. He expressed admiration for the humanitarian services the institution provides to this vital segment of society.

Acknowledging the Staff’s Dedication

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the staff and their commitment to serving these children. He exchanged greetings with them in light of the Ramadan season and the approaching Eid al-Fitr, thanking them for their dedication and humanitarian work.

During his visit, the Prime Minister toured various sections of the institution, which serves approximately 350 children. He listened to detailed explanations about the rehabilitation, health, and educational services offered to the residents. The institution primarily relies on funding from local and international charitable organizations, donations, and community contributions.

Dr. bin Mubarak met with the institution’s director, Dr. Farah Madhi, who outlined the institution’s activities, programs, and the challenges it faces. These challenges include the rising number of children diagnosed with cerebral palsy each year and the lack of necessary resources and specialists. She emphasized the need for academic training for teachers in schools to accommodate children requiring special care.

He reaffirmed that the government, under the guidance of the Presidential Leadership Council, prioritizes individuals with special needs, recognizing their immense talents and potential that require attention and opportunities to thrive.
