Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak Visits Marib's Air and Air Defense College

Strengthening National Spirit and Military Readiness

On Thursday, Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited the Air and Air Defense College in Marib Governorate. Upon arrival, the national anthem was played, and the Prime Minister, alongside Chief of General Staff and Joint Operations Commander Major General Sagheer bin Aziz, reviewed the honor guard that stood in his honor.

Celebrating Yemen’s Revolutionary Heritage

During a ceremony organized by the college leadership to commemorate this visit, the Prime Minister delivered a speech. He conveyed the greetings of President Rashad al-Alimi and his fellow council members and government officials to the college’s leadership, students, and staff. He congratulated them on the occasion of the Yemen Revolution anniversaries: September 26, October 14, and November 30.

In a show of unity, Prime Minister bin Mubarak joined the students in chanting the slogan, “With our souls and blood, we sacrifice for you, O Yemen.” He emphasized that this timeless slogan reflects their love for the homeland and their commitment to preserving its gains in freedom, dignity, republic, and justice.

Marib: A Symbol of Resistance

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution in Marib, calling it a bastion of the republic and a city known for resilience, sacrifice, and valor. He acknowledged Marib’s crucial role in resisting the dark, theocratic agenda of the Houthi militia and the Iranian influence in Yemen.

He stated, “Our battle is a defense of republican values against a terrorist, theocratic group that rejects national consensus and the values of the revolution for which our ancestors sacrificed to eliminate class disparities and achieve justice, equality, and freedom.”

Recognizing Academic Excellence

Prime Minister bin Mubarak praised the remarkable efficiency of the academic process at the Air and Air Defense College. He noted that its members represent a beautiful mosaic from all regions of Yemen. He thanked the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff for their efforts in developing this institution, which contributes significantly to the republican camp aimed at liberating the remaining provinces under Houthi control.

He remarked, “I see in you and through your specialized training that victory is imminent. The sectarian, theocratic project has no place in our homeland and is rejected by the people and society.”

Government Commitment to Military Development

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the Air and Air Defense College with all necessary resources to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces, particularly in specialized fields. He announced the laying of the foundation stone for several key projects affiliated with the college, including a hospital, a language and computer training institute, a sports city, and a multipurpose hall.

He also acknowledged the support provided by the Saudi-led Coalition for Legitimacy and the United Arab Emirates in Yemen’s fight against Iranian influence.

Welcoming Remarks from College Leadership

The Director of the Air and Air Defense College welcomed the Prime Minister and expressed gratitude for his visit, noting its significant impact on the morale of the college’s personnel. He reviewed the college’s establishment phases and its efforts to enroll students from various governorates, along with practical plans to enhance administrative and operational performance.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by several government ministers, including Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani; Minister of Finance Salem bin Breik; Minister of Interior Major General Ibrahim Haidan; Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi; Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Ashwal; Minister of Electricity and Energy Engineer Mani’ bin Yameen; the Prime Minister’s Office Director Engineer Anis Baharitha; and Prime Minister Advisor Ambassador Mujib Othman, among others.
