Prime Minister Visits Defense Advisor Mahmoud Al-Sabihi in Lahij

On Saturday, October 21, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited Major General Mahmoud Al-Sabihi, the defense and security advisor to the Presidential Leadership Council, at his home in the Ras Al-Ara area of Lahij Governorate. This visit aimed to discuss critical national issues, particularly the ongoing struggle against the Houthi militia.

Addressing the Houthi Challenge

During their meeting, the Prime Minister and Al-Sabihi focused on the existential battle to restore the Yemeni state and end the Houthi coup. They emphasized the importance of unity among all factions working toward this goal. The Prime Minister acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by the Yemeni people in this fight.

Community Welfare and Local Governance

The discussion also included Lahij Governor Major General Ahmed Abdullah Turki, who highlighted the current situation of citizens in the governorate. They reviewed the collaborative efforts to enhance security, stability, and essential services, including education, healthcare, and electricity. The leaders stressed the importance of both official and popular support for local authorities to fulfill their responsibilities.

Recognition of Al-Sabihi’s Contributions

Prime Minister bin Mubarak praised Al-Sabihi’s national role and dedication. He described him as a symbol of courage and resilience in defending Yemen against the Houthi militia and its divisive agenda. The Prime Minister called for collective action during this critical phase in Yemen’s history to unite all good-hearted individuals in the fight against the Houthi coup and restore the legitimacy of the Yemeni state.

Gratitude for Government Efforts

In response, Al-Sabihi expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s visit and acknowledged the government’s efforts to improve performance despite challenging circumstances. He emphasized the need for continued collaboration to address the pressing needs of the Yemeni people.

Accompanying Delegation

The Prime Minister was accompanied by several officials during the visit, including Engineer Manea bin Yameen, Minister of Electricity and Energy; Engineer Anis Baharitha, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office; and Abdul-Rabih Al-Mahouli, Deputy Minister of Technical and Vocational Education.

This visit underscores the commitment of Yemen’s leadership to unite and address the challenges facing the nation, particularly in the fight against the Houthi militia.
