On Sunday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited the Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance to assess employee discipline on the first official workday following the Eid al-Fitr holiday. His visit aimed to evaluate the ministry’s efforts in monitoring attendance and discipline within the state administrative apparatus at both central and local levels.
Welcoming Reception and Initial Reports
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister was greeted by Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Wali, along with several ministry leaders. They presented initial indicators regarding employee discipline based on reports from field inspection teams and ministry offices. The Prime Minister acknowledged the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure consistent monitoring of employee discipline across all administrative units throughout the year.
Celebrating Eid and Encouraging Performance
During his visit, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings with the ministry’s leadership and staff. He conveyed the best wishes of President Rashad Alimi and other council members. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing performance and efforts during these exceptional circumstances. He highlighted the ministry’s crucial role in implementing comprehensive reforms within state institutions, which the government has initiated. These reforms focus on five key areas: restructuring institutions, wage and salary reform, employment policy reform, capacity building, and digital transformation.
Meeting on Administrative Reforms
The Prime Minister held a meeting with the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance to discuss the ministry’s efforts in monitoring employee discipline and ensuring regular operations within the state administrative units. They also reviewed the progress of administrative reform initiatives.
Implementation of Annual Bonuses
Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak sought updates on the implementation of his directives regarding the release of annual bonuses for state employees based on their years of service. He stressed the importance of granting all eligible employees their rightful adjustments as part of efforts to improve the conditions of public sector employees at both central and local levels.
Formation of Task Forces for Salary Adjustments
In this context, the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance explained that a main task force has been established to handle the bonuses and adjustments, following the Prime Minister’s directives. This team, along with supporting workgroups, aims to complete its tasks within a month. Additionally, a separate team has been formed to review the regulations governing salary structures.
Government Support for Civil Service Ministry
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the Ministry of Civil Service in fulfilling its responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of applying laws, regulations, and administrative guidelines to restore the integrity of public service and address existing employment imbalances.
