The Prime Minister has ordered emergency fuel supplies for Aden’s electricity to alleviate citizens’ suffering.

Urgent Fuel Supply for Power Stations in Aden

Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Breik has directed immediate action to supply emergency fuel to electricity generation stations in Aden, the temporary capital. This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of citizens facing ongoing power outages.

Coordinated Efforts to Address Power Outages

During a series of intensive calls, Prime Minister bin Breik engaged with key officials, including Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Saeed Al-Shamasi, Minister of Electricity and Energy Man’a bin Yameen, Governor of Aden Ahmed Lamlas, and General Director of the Electricity Corporation in Aden Salem Al-Walidi. They discussed urgent measures to tackle electricity interruptions and the ongoing plan to supply power stations with necessary fuel derivatives.

Immediate Fuel Supply Measures

Bin Breik emphasized the need for all necessary actions to reduce power outage hours. He instructed the swift provision of emergency diesel from a local trader’s stock at Aden refineries. Additionally, he called for the necessary steps to ensure the arrival of two fuel shipments—13,000 tons of diesel and 13,000 tons of mazut—designated for the power stations in Aden.

Ongoing Collaboration for Sustainable Solutions

The Prime Minister confirmed that he is continuously monitoring the situation in collaboration with the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy, including the United Arab Emirates. They are working to secure sufficient fuel supplies to stabilize electricity services. Bin Breik highlighted the importance of focusing on sustainable, strategic solutions to address recurring crises in the electricity generation sector and its distribution network in Aden and other liberated provinces.

Commitment to Addressing Citizens’ Concerns

In his statements, Prime Minister bin Breik reiterated the government’s full understanding of the hardships faced by citizens in Aden and other liberated areas due to power outages and declining services, especially during the sweltering summer months. He assured that the government is making every effort, in coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council, to find immediate solutions. He urged all parties to fulfill their responsibilities to alleviate the citizens’ suffering.
