Yemen's Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Refugee Coordination in Aden

Aden, Yemen – Today, Deputy Foreign Minister and Expatriate Affairs Mustafa Noman met with Mohammed Rafiq Nasri, the head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Aden. The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in the temporary capital, Aden, and focused on enhancing collaboration between the National Committee for Refugee Affairs and the UNHCR.

Importance of the National Committee for Refugee Affairs

During the meeting, Noman emphasized the critical role of the National Committee for Refugee Affairs. He highlighted its importance in coordinating government efforts to address the issues of displacement and asylum in Yemen. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to managing refugee affairs more effectively.

Strengthening Government and UNHCR Cooperation

Noman stressed the need for stronger cooperation between relevant government entities and the UNHCR. He pointed out that such collaboration is essential for responding effectively to the challenges faced by refugees and host communities.
