The Presidential Leadership Council reaffirms its support for comprehensive reforms and praises the readiness of the armed forces.

Presidential Leadership Council Holds Key Meeting

On Tuesday, the Presidential Leadership Council convened under the leadership of President Rashad Mohammed Alimi. The meeting included several council members in attendance, while others participated via video conference. Notably, members Tariq Saleh and Othman Majali were absent with valid excuses.

Discussion on Economic and Security Developments

The meeting, which featured Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Brek and Defense Minister Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Dhaeri, focused on recent economic, service, military, and security developments. The council emphasized the importance of comprehensive reforms and mobilizing resources to meet the state’s commitments to its citizens and the national struggle.

Celebrating Independence

At the beginning of the meeting, the council congratulated the Yemeni people, both domestically and abroad, on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of independence. The council expressed hopes that this anniversary would bring the realization of the people’s aspirations for peace, development, security, and stability.

Economic Reforms and Financial Progress

The council listened to a report from the Prime Minister regarding progress in economic and financial reforms. This included the implementation of Council Decision No. (11) for 2025, which aims to unify revenue collection and ensure all funds are deposited into the central bank, preventing illegal collections. The council reaffirmed its full support for government reforms, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption efforts. It noted a significant improvement in the national currency’s position and the prices of essential goods.

Acknowledgment of International Support

The council expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in recovery, developmental, and humanitarian programs.

Military Readiness and Security Operations

Defense Minister Al-Dhaeri provided an update on the operational status and readiness of the armed forces and security agencies. He reported the successful apprehension of terrorist cells linked to the Houthi militia and their allied organizations, thwarting their destructive plans in several provinces.

Commending Military Sacrifices

The council praised the sacrifices made by the armed forces and security personnel in defending dignity and the republican system. It reaffirmed the high combat readiness of the military to deter threats from the Houthi militia, which receives support from the Iranian regime and allied criminal organizations.
