Notably, member Sultan Al-Aradah was absent due to valid reasons.
The council, with the attendance of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, focused on the latest political, economic, and service-related developments. A significant portion of the discussion revolved around the fluctuations in exchange rates and essential commodity prices. The council emphasized the need for efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militia and reviewed the implementation status of relevant decisions and recommendations.
The meeting also examined a report detailing the outcomes of the presidential committee tasked with developing a national strategy. Led by council member Major General Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, the committee addressed the challenges and changes anticipated in the political, economic, and military arenas. The council made appropriate decisions and recommendations based on the report.
Additionally, the council discussed regional changes and their implications for national stability. Recent developments in Syria, Lebanon, and the occupied Palestinian territories, along with Houthi terrorist attacks on international shipping lanes, were key points of concern. The council highlighted the devastating effects of these actions on food security and international peace and security.
In this context, the Presidential Leadership Council congratulated the Syrian people on the fall of the Iranian-backed regime in Syria and the return of Damascus to the Arab fold. The council reaffirmed Yemen’s support for the unity of Syrian territory, respect for its independence, and the people’s will for freedom, change, peace, and stability.
Furthermore, the council welcomed the results of the 45th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit. The leaders expressed their strong commitment to fully support the Presidential Leadership Council and its allied entities in achieving security and stability in Yemen. They emphasized the importance of reaching a comprehensive political solution based on the Gulf Initiative, its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216, all aimed at preserving Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence.
This meeting reflects the ongoing efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to address pressing national issues while fostering regional stability and cooperation.
