The Parliamentary Council’s leadership has announced the formation of committees for field visits to the provinces.

Parliament Forms Committees for Local Oversight

On Wednesday, the Presidency of the House of Representatives convened at the General Secretariat in the temporary capital, Aden. Led by Speaker Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani, along with members Engineer Mohammed al-Shadadi and Engineer Mohsen Basra, the meeting resulted in significant decisions aimed at enhancing local governance.

Purpose of the Committees

The newly formed parliamentary committees will conduct field visits to various provinces. Their primary objective is to assess the activities of local authorities, review financial and administrative practices, and evaluate both central and local public resources. Additionally, the committees will investigate issues related to oil discrepancies and the operations of revenue-generating institutions.

This committee will oversee the provinces of Aden, Taiz, Lahij, and Al-Dhale.
