Ministry of Youth and Sports Launches Sports Clubs Database Project in Yemen

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, through its Sports Sector, has launched a comprehensive project to establish a database for sports clubs across Yemen. This initiative includes a plan to visit youth offices in various governorates to assess their operations and explain the project’s details and significance in developing future plans and programs.

Significance of the Project

During the launch event at the Youth and Sports Office in Aden, Khaled Mohsen Al-Khalifi, the Deputy Minister of the Sports Sector, emphasized the project’s importance. He stated that the database will serve as a vital tool for gathering and organizing information. Al-Khalifi described the initiative as a significant national effort that will create a reliable database for future use.

Field Survey of Sports Activities

The Sports Sector aims to conduct a comprehensive field survey of sports activities across the governorates. This survey will involve collaboration with local branches of sports federations. Al-Khalifi highlighted the necessity of collecting accurate data to assess the current state of these federations and to develop future plans aimed at enhancing sports performance.

Essential Data for Decision-Making

Farhan Thabet Al-Muntasir, Director General of the General Administration for Federations and Clubs, presented an overview of the essential data included in the project. He noted that this information will help address numerous issues, enabling decision-makers to act appropriately. Furthermore, the project will facilitate necessary updates to ensure that all stakeholders’ rights are protected.

Improving Sports Management

Wijdan Al-Shadhly, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Aden, recognized the database project as a crucial step toward reorganizing various aspects related to sports clubs and federations. He expressed optimism that this initiative would lead to significant improvements in sports management.
