Ministry of Higher Education Launches Competitive Exam for Cultural Exchange Scholarships

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research officially inaugurated the competitive examination process for cultural exchange scholarships for the academic year 2025-2026. A total of 1,475 students applied, with exams held across four centers: the University of Aden, the University of Hadramout, the University of Taiz, and the Saba Region in Marib.

Commitment to Fairness and Transparency

Dr. Mazen Al-Jafri, the Undersecretary for Scholarships at the ministry, emphasized that the examination process upholds principles of fairness, transparency, and integrity. These efforts ensure that scholarships reach deserving and outstanding students. Furthermore, he announced the launch of a unified scholarship platform for the current year, marking a significant step toward the digital transformation the ministry aims to achieve in the coming years.

Enhancing Administrative Efficiency Through Technology

The new platform aims to improve the administrative and financial performance of the scholarship sector. It will establish an integrated electronic system that connects the ministry with Yemen’s embassies and attachés abroad. This unified system will facilitate swift and effective handling of all administrative and financial transactions related to study abroad scholarships. As a result, it will enhance transparency while saving time and effort for both students and relevant authorities.

Strategic Digital Transformation Initiatives

Dr. Al-Jafri confirmed that this project aligns with the ministry’s strategic plans for digital transformation and service enhancement, keeping pace with contemporary demands. He noted that the new system will lay the groundwork for advanced technological infrastructure in the coming years, which will streamline communication and simplify processes among various stakeholders.

The Ministry of Higher Education is committed to fostering an environment that supports academic excellence and transparency in scholarship distribution, ensuring that the brightest students have access to valuable cultural exchange opportunities.
