Minister of Water and Environment Discusses Coordination with New IOM Chief in Yemen

Today, in the temporary capital of Aden, Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi met with Abdulsttar Aysweif, the newly appointed head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Yemen. The meeting focused on enhancing joint coordination and identifying key areas of collaboration for the upcoming phase.

Efforts to Address Water Needs

During the discussion, Minister Al-Sharjabi highlighted the ministry’s ongoing efforts to meet the water needs of citizens through various projects and interventions. He emphasized the supportive role of the IOM in executing these projects and securing necessary funding. The minister expressed a strong commitment to strengthening the partnership with the IOM, offering all available facilities to ensure the successful implementation of tasks and projects across the ministry’s various sectors. He also wished Aysweif success in his new role.

Commitment to Collaboration

In response, Aysweif reaffirmed the IOM’s commitment to working alongside the Yemeni government and the Ministry of Water and Environment. He emphasized the importance of adhering to established procedures and agreements. Aysweif expressed his dedication to further developing collaboration and partnership with the ministry in the coming period.

This meeting marks a significant step towards enhancing the effectiveness of water management and environmental initiatives in Yemen, aiming to provide better services to the population.
