A Focus on Post-Eid Operations

Today, Dr. Abdul Salam Humeid, the Minister of Transport, assessed the operational status and employee discipline at Aden International Airport. This visit followed the conclusion of the Eid al-Adha holiday. The minister toured various departments, including departure and arrival halls, while engaging with staff about the services provided throughout the airport.

Meeting with Airport Leadership

Dr. Humeid chaired a meeting that included key figures such as Abdul Raqeeb Al-Amri, the General Director of Aden International Airport, and Dr. Munif Al-Zughli, the Deputy General Director. The discussion focused on evaluating ongoing activities and project plans at the airport.

Final Preparations for Infrastructure Improvements

During the meeting, attendees reviewed final preparations for crucial maintenance tasks. These include repairs to the runway, navigation systems, and communication equipment. Additionally, they discussed the expedited construction of a new aircraft maintenance hangar. Ongoing projects, such as the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology building, the Aviation Institute, and the Aviation Security Institute, were also highlighted.

Emphasis on Accountability and Compliance

Minister Humeid provided several directives aimed at enhancing airport management. He stressed the importance of monitoring attendance and ensuring thorough security checks. The minister urged all staff to work collaboratively to prevent disruptions and maintain operational integrity, emphasizing that everyone is accountable under the law.

The Minister of Transport underscored the need to prioritize significant development projects that enhance service quality for travelers. He noted that the ministry, along with the Civil Aviation Authority and Yemen Airways, is actively working to expand the air transport fleet. They aim to expedite the entry of private airlines into the market, which will launch flights in the coming days to alleviate passenger demand.
