The Minister of State for Women’s Affairs emphasizes the importance of women’s participation in the integrity system.

Women’s Participation in Integrity and Community Oversight: A National Imperative
Minister Highlights the Importance of Women’s Involvement
Dr. Ahd Jassous, the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, emphasized that women’s participation in integrity and community oversight is a national necessity. This involvement significantly enhances the effectiveness of recovery programs, ensuring they are inclusive and equitable.
During the opening of the second meeting of the Women’s Working Group in Aden, the temporary capital, Dr. Jassous stressed the need to integrate women’s issues and empowerment into economic recovery programs and national reforms. She pointed out that the repercussions of corruption disproportionately affect women, particularly those who are heads of households, internally displaced, or living with disabilities.
Creating a Collaborative Framework for Social Dimensions
Dr. Jassous underscored the meeting’s importance in developing a participatory framework for the social dimension within the national integrity strategy. This framework aims to actively involve women while considering the unique realities of Yemen. It aligns with the comprehensive economic reform priorities outlined in Presidential Leadership Council Decision No. 11 of 2025.
The minister reiterated the ministry’s commitment to transforming the meeting’s outcomes into actionable programs at the provincial level. These initiatives will enhance women’s roles in integrity, recovery, and development efforts.
Discussion on Women’s Awareness Programs
Participants at the meeting, organized by the National Coordination and Follow-up Committee under Decision No. 34 of 2025, collaborated with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The event, themed “Enhancing Integrity for Recovery in Yemen,” focused on several proposals. These included implementing women’s awareness programs on integrity concepts, expanding their geographical reach, and strengthening supportive partnerships.
Additionally, the group discussed establishing a women’s network to support the strategic framework and explored mechanisms for its sustainability.
This collaborative effort aims to empower women and ensure their vital role in Yemen’s recovery and development processes.
