A Focus on Infrastructure Improvement

Today, Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Hussein Al-Aqrobi, inspected the asphalt work on the second phase of the maintenance project for the international road (Al-Alam – Dofas) in Abyan Governorate. This initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance the infrastructure of the road network.

Project Details and Funding

The second phase of the project spans approximately 16.5 kilometers and aims to rehabilitate the international road (Al-Alam – Dofas). The Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund finances and oversees the project, while Saba General Contracting Company executes the work.

Importance of the Project

Minister Al-Aqrobi emphasized that this project aligns with the ministry’s plan to rehabilitate and maintain main roads in liberated provinces. These roads play a vital role in facilitating transportation and trade, effectively connecting different provinces.

Commitment to Quality Standards

The minister highlighted the ministry’s special focus on the road sector, recognizing it as a fundamental component supporting economic and social development. He noted that improving the road network reduces traffic accidents and enhances access to services for citizens.

Minister Al-Aqrobi stressed the importance of adhering to approved technical and engineering specifications during project execution. Project Manager’s Update

Project Manager Engineer Mohammed Mufriq reported that the asphalt work is progressing according to the approved technical plan and at an accelerated pace. The team is committed to meeting technical standards to ensure the road’s sustainability and the safety of its users.
