The Minister of Information urges the Lebanese government to halt the Houthi media operations originating from the southern suburbs.

Yemeni Minister Calls for Action Against Houthi Media in Lebanon

Lebanon Urged to Halt Houthi Media Operations

Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, has called on the Lebanese government to stop media outlets affiliated with the Houthi militia. These outlets operate from the southern suburbs of Beirut, receiving Iranian support to disseminate hate speech, incite distrust, and distort the reality of their coup against the Yemeni state. Al-Eryani emphasized that these actions threaten Arab national security and target international shipping routes.

Addressing the Arab Media Ministers Council

During his speech at the 55th session of the Arab Media Ministers Council, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Al-Eryani conveyed greetings and appreciation from Yemeni President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and the Presidential Leadership Council. He expressed hopes for the conference to yield decisions and recommendations that strengthen Arab cooperation and support efforts to maintain regional security and stability.

The Importance of Media in the Ongoing Conflict

Al-Eryani highlighted that the media battle is as crucial as military confrontations. He pointed out that Iran continues to support the Houthi militia through various media channels and electronic platforms. This support includes the ongoing smuggling of weapons. He noted that the Houthi media system, including Al-Masirah TV and its production networks, operates as part of an Iranian command center, aiming to distort public perception, legitimize violence, and escalate sectarian conflicts.

A Call for Unified Arab Action

The minister stressed the need for all Arab nations to prevent any militia or terrorist organization from conducting media, political, or financial activities against another Arab state from their territories. He urged a unified Arab stance to counter these dangerous infiltrations that threaten national security and community stability. Al-Eryani advocated for the establishment of responsible Arab media that protects the truth, combats misinformation, and safeguards public awareness from attempts at disruption.

Gratitude for Regional Support

Al-Eryani expressed gratitude on behalf of the Yemeni leadership and people to all brotherly nations that have supported Yemen’s constitutional legitimacy against the coup, particularly highlighting Saudi Arabia’s role under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Acknowledgment of Arab League Efforts

The minister praised the efforts of the Arab League, led by Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the team that organized this successful meeting. He also commended the work of Bahrain’s Minister of Information, Dr. Ramzan Al-Nuaimi, for his outstanding management during the 54th session of the Arab Media Ministers Council.

Congratulations to Syria on Its Return to the Arab League

Al-Eryani congratulated the Syrian Arab Republic on its return to the Arab League and its presidency of the 55th session of the Arab Media Ministers Council, represented by Minister of Information Hamza Mustafa. He wished them success in managing the session to enhance collaborative Arab media efforts and serve the issues of the Arab nation.

Yemen’s New Role in Arab Media Leadership

During the meeting, Yemen was elected to the Executive Office of the Arab Media Ministers Council, which will be chaired by Kuwait in the upcoming session.

Attendees at the Meeting

The meeting included the presence of Yemen’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Ayman Nasser, the media advisor at the Yemeni embassy in Cairo, Bilegh Al-Makhlafi, and the second secretary at the Yemeni delegation, Yahya Al-Mamari.
