The Minister of Information stated that President Alimi’s visit to Moscow is a key step in strengthening Yemen’s political and diplomatic presence.

Yemen’s Diplomatic Efforts Strengthened by Presidential Visit to Moscow

Minister Highlights Importance of the Visit

Yemen’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, emphasized the significance of President Rashad Mohammed Alimi’s recent official visit to Moscow. This trip marks a pivotal moment in enhancing Yemen’s political and diplomatic presence on the global stage. Al-Eryani reiterated the Yemeni leadership’s commitment to its national, regional, and international responsibilities during a historically sensitive time, as the country faces severe challenges due to the Houthi militia’s coup, supported by the Iranian regime.

Addressing International Relations

In a press statement, Al-Eryani explained that the visit aligns with a conscious political strategy. He warned that leaving a void in Yemen’s relationships with various countries poses risks comparable to the on-ground challenges. Such a void could allow coup forces to infiltrate the international arena, misrepresenting themselves as a legitimate authority despite their ongoing crimes and severe violations against the Yemeni people, regional security, and international navigation.

A Message to the International Community

Al-Eryani pointed out that President Alimi’s trip to Moscow transcends mere diplomatic engagement. It sends a clear message to the international community: the legitimate Yemen is active, responsible, and effectively advocating for its issues in global forums. This approach emphasizes shared interests and principled positions.

Meetings with Russian Leadership

The minister noted that President Alimi’s meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and senior Russian officials provided a crucial opportunity to present the realities on the ground in Yemen. These discussions aimed to expose the Houthi militia’s actions and highlight the dangerous consequences of continued Iranian support, both for Yemen and for regional and global security.

A Vision for Yemen’s Future

Al-Eryani affirmed that these political and diplomatic initiatives demonstrate the Yemeni leadership’s cohesive vision and unwavering determination to defend Yemen’s supreme interests. The goal is to strengthen international partnerships and establish Yemen as a positive actor in the region, rather than a battleground for chaos, terrorism, and external control.

A Step Towards State Restoration

In conclusion, Al-Eryani stated that this visit represents a new cornerstone in the journey to restore the Yemeni state. He underscored that Yemen’s political and diplomatic presence in major capitals is an integral part of the Yemeni people’s struggle to reclaim their sovereignty, freedom, and dignity while building a new Yemen.
