Minister of Information Meets with Saba Channel Leadership

Ministerial Greetings and National Identity

Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, held a meeting with the leadership of Saba Channel, attended by the channel’s president, Khalid Alyan, and general managers. At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Eryani conveyed the greetings of President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and his fellow council members, as well as Prime Minister Dr. Sha’if Al-Zandani. He expressed their appreciation for the vital role of national media in defending Yemen’s identity and countering the Houthi project and its extremist ideologies. Al-Eryani emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about the threats posed by these ideologies to the state, society, and Yemen’s future.

Strengthening Media Partnerships

Al-Eryani urged the enhancement of partnerships between media outlets and state institutions in the upcoming phase. This call aligns with the government’s plans to implement a series of economic and administrative reforms aimed at increasing transparency, combating corruption, and establishing governance principles. He highlighted that media serves as a crucial partner in explaining the objectives of these reforms and building citizens’ trust, ultimately supporting the state’s efforts and fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people.

Highlighting Resilience and Development

The minister noted that Saba Channel’s launch from Marib City provides a unique opportunity to spotlight the governorate, which has become a model of resilience and development. Marib is home to national figures and heroic leaders who have contributed significantly to the fight for state restoration. Al-Eryani stressed the importance of showcasing these national examples and enhancing their presence in the channel’s media content.

Addressing Citizen Concerns

Al-Eryani emphasized the need for the channel to remain close to the issues and daily concerns of citizens and displaced individuals. This approach reflects the channel’s national and humanitarian message and underscores the media’s role in conveying reality and defending people’s interests.

Digital Media Successes

The minister praised the channel’s achievements in digital media, particularly the launch of an English-language platform. This initiative has helped convey the Yemeni message to Yemeni communities in the United States, Europe, and around the world, providing continuous updates on developments in Yemen to the international audience.

Performance Review and Future Plans

During the meeting, Al-Eryani and his accompanying media delegation reviewed the channel’s operational performance, including programming and technical aspects. This review is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor national media institutions and enhance their role in supporting the national struggle and restoring state institutions.

The minister received a detailed briefing on the channel’s activities and its progress over the past six months since its official launch. He toured various facilities, including studios, technical equipment, production and broadcasting rooms, and the operational mechanisms employed by national staff in news, programming, and production. The programming schedule includes live and recorded shows, documentaries, and diverse digital content.

Digital Strategy Insights

The visit also included the General Administration of Digital Media, where the minister learned about the channel’s digital presence strategy. He reviewed the reach of its content across social media platforms and the results achieved in engaging audiences both within Yemen and abroad.

This meeting underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening national media as a pillar of identity and reform in Yemen.
