Socotra, Yemen – Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, visited the headquarters of Task Force 808 for support and assistance in Socotra Archipelago. Upon his arrival, he received a warm welcome from the Assistant Commander of the force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Sabai.
President’s Greetings and Acknowledgment
During the visit, Al-Eryani conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, to the leadership of Task Force 808. He praised their efforts in overcoming challenges and contributing to the welfare of the people of Socotra.
Gratitude for Saudi Support
Al-Eryani expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He acknowledged their significant efforts and generous support for the Yemeni people across various sectors, which the Yemeni populace deeply appreciates.
Development Projects in Socotra
The minister highlighted his observations during the visit regarding several projects implemented by Saudi Arabia in Socotra this year through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen. He noted that each visit reveals advancements in developmental projects that reflect the strong support from Saudi counterparts. Notably, he mentioned the establishment of the College of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences, which features a main hall accommodating 700 individuals, serving both the university and the province. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s support for Yemen illustrates the strong bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
Commitment to Yemeni Welfare
Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Sabai reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to fulfilling the interests of the Yemeni people and strengthening the ties of brotherhood and neighborliness. He highlighted the robust relationship between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, noting the directives from the Kingdom’s leadership to provide comprehensive support to the Yemeni populace, particularly the residents of Socotra, across all developmental, humanitarian, and relief sectors.

Al-Eryani was accompanied during the visit by several officials, including Mohammed Bashraheel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the 14 October Foundation for Press, Printing, and Publishing, Abdul Basit Al-Qadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Saleh Saad, Undersecretary of Socotra Province, and Abdullah Al-Hamid, Advisor to the Ministry of Tourism.
