Minister of Information Condemns Houthi Attack on Civilians

Tragic Incident in Hajjah
Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani condemned the horrific massacre committed by Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime. The attack involved artillery fire targeting a gathering of civilians during iftar, the evening meal to break the fast, in the Haran district of Hajjah Governorate. This tragic event resulted in the deaths of eight civilians, including children, and left over thirty others with serious injuries.

A Grave Violation of Human Rights
In a press statement, Al-Eryani emphasized that targeting civilians gathered for iftar during the last ten days of Ramadan represents a heinous crime and a blatant violation of religious and humanitarian values. He highlighted the criminal nature of the Houthi militia, which shows no regard for the sanctity of life and continues to attack Yemenis in their daily lives without any moral or humanitarian restraint.

A Pattern of Violence
Al-Eryani pointed out that this incident adds to the dark record of Houthi violations against civilians, which have persisted since their coup. He asserted that the militia insists on using violence and terrorism as a means to impose its agenda, indifferent to the humanitarian tragedies and suffering inflicted on innocent people.

Call for International Action
The Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured. He urged the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to clearly condemn this terrorist act and to hold the perpetrators accountable, ensuring they do not escape punishment.

International Silence Encourages Further Violence
Al-Eryani reiterated that the ongoing silence from the international community regarding these crimes emboldens the Houthi militia to continue targeting civilians and committing further violations against the Yemeni people.
