On Saturday, Defense Minister Major General Mohsen Mohammed Al-Daari chaired a significant meeting in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. The meeting included key leaders from the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, and commanders from various military regions. Notably, the Chief of General Staff and Joint Operations Commander, Major General Sagheer bin Aziz, participated via video conferencing from his operational base.
At the start of the meeting, Minister Al-Daari conveyed warm greetings from the political leadership, represented by Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, along with council members. These greetings marked the upcoming celebrations of Yemen’s revolutionary holidays: September 26, October 14, and November 30. These events commemorate the nation’s liberation from oppressive regimes and colonial rule.
The meeting also addressed the current military situation across various fronts. Attendees included Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Ahmed Al-Basri, Assistant Defense Minister Major General Saleh Hassan, and Head of Joint Operations Major General Saleh Ali. They praised the bravery of armed forces personnel in defending against attacks and violations by the Houthi militia and affiliated terrorist organizations.
Participants discussed preparations for the upcoming celebrations of the enduring revolutionary holidays. These events symbolize the Yemeni people’s struggle against a backward, oppressive regime and harsh colonialism. The meeting emphasized the importance of honoring this history while maintaining military readiness.
Minister Al-Daari listened to reports regarding the conditions of military personnel and the needs of injured soldiers. The Assistant Defense Minister and the Head of Logistics Support provided updates, while military region commanders presented recommendations. They urged the Presidential Leadership Council and the Prime Minister to expedite the provision of essential resources to enhance the armed forces’ combat and technical readiness. This readiness is crucial for effectively countering the ongoing threats posed by the Houthi militia across various battlefronts.
In response to the discussions, Minister Al-Daari instructed the Training and Rehabilitation Authority to prepare for the 2025 training and combat year. This initiative aims to achieve the highest levels of readiness, expertise, and efficiency among military personnel.
The meeting concluded with the presence of military agency heads, department directors, the Commander of the Taiz Axis, and staff from the Joint Operations Authority. Their collective efforts underscore a commitment to maintaining a unified military front as Yemen continues to navigate its challenges and honor its revolutionary heritage.
