The meeting took place during the ongoing UN Food Systems Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Participants discussed a collaborative project designed to finance livestock development, feed production, and breeding initiatives. Additionally, the project aims to support rural development, empower women producers, and assist livestock breeders. This initiative aligns with UNIDO’s broader efforts to promote food security and sustainable development in Yemen.

The meeting also included Mayank Joel, the Director for the Middle East and Africa at Tetra Pak, a company specializing in food packaging and preservation technology. Minister Al-Saqtri praised UNIDO’s initiative, highlighting its significance in bolstering food security and sustainable development.

He emphasized the importance of partnerships to support productive farmers and livestock breeders. Furthermore, he noted the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the livestock sector through the development of a national strategy. This strategy includes providing veterinary services and ensuring the availability of healthy animal products.
