The Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology has issued a warning about a rainy weather system affecting parts of the country from October 11 to 13, 2026. The forecast predicts varying intensity thunderstorms, with the possibility of locally heavy rainfall in several provinces.

Affected Areas

According to the warning bulletin:

• Socotra Archipelago and East Gulf of Aden
• Coasts, highlands, and plateaus of Al-Mahrah and parts of Hadhramaut
• Parts of Shabwa, Abyan, and Lahij
• Western and southwestern highlands: Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah
• There is a possibility of rainfall extending to the western coast and Adan Governorate

Warnings for Citizens

The center urges citizens to:

• Avoid being present or crossing in valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall
• Be cautious of flash floods and rising water levels
• Stay away from electric poles, billboards, and trees during storms
• Follow marine bulletins, especially in the East Gulf of Aden and the waters surrounding Socotra and the Arabian Sea
