Weather Forecast: Mild to Cold Conditions with Thunderstorms Expected

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center has issued a weather update for Monday. Coastal areas and nearby regions can expect cloudy skies, with a chance of thunderstorms in parts of the southeastern coasts. Overall, temperatures will remain moderate, while winds will be moderate to strong along the southwestern coasts and on Mayyun Island, stirring up sand and dust.

Mountainous Regions: Dry and Dusty Conditions

According to the daily weather bulletin, which the Yemen News Agency (Saba) received, the mountainous areas will experience dry and dusty weather. Daytime temperatures will be mild, while nights will turn cold. Conditions will range from clear to partly cloudy, with a possibility of fog formation and varying intensity thunderstorms, potentially accompanied by hail in the northern and northwestern highlands.

Desert and Plateau Areas: Clear and Dry

In desert and plateau regions, the forecast indicates clear and dry weather. Daytime temperatures will remain moderate, while nights will be cold. Winds will be moderate to active, stirring up sand and dust.

Temperature Predictions for Monday

The expected maximum and minimum temperatures for Monday in coastal and nearby areas are as follows:

  • Aden: 29°C / 25°C
  • Mukalla: 28°C / 24°C
  • Hodeidah: 31°C / 26°C
  • Socotra: 33°C / 23°C
  • Mokha: 30°C / 26°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 31°C / 22°C
  • Zinjibar: 30°C / 23°C
  • Lahij: 30°C / 22°C

In desert and plateau areas, temperatures will be:

  • Sayun: 36°C / 16°C
  • Marib: 34°C / 19°C
  • Ataq: 33°C / 19°C
  • Bayhan: 35°C / 20°C

In mountainous regions, temperatures will be:

  • Sana’a: 23°C / 14°C
  • Taiz: 23°C / 17°C
  • Dhamar: 22°C / 11°C
  • Al-Dhale: 25°C / 15°C
  • Ibb: 21°C / 14°C
  • Al-Bayda: 24°C / 13°C

Safety Warnings for Citizens

The center has urged citizens in areas expecting rainfall to avoid riverbeds and valleys. It also warned about the dangers of thunderstorms and strong winds, which may lead to rockslides. Citizens should take necessary precautions to mitigate these risks. Additionally, drivers should be cautious of reduced visibility due to rainfall in affected areas.

Marine Conditions: Caution Advised

In its daily marine bulletin, the center forecasts calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the Socotra Archipelago. The western coasts will experience light to moderate waves, while the Bab al-Mandab area will see moderate waves. The regional waters in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden will also have light to moderate waves, while the Red Sea will experience moderate conditions.

The center has cautioned fishermen and sea-goers in the southwestern coasts, Bab al-Mandab, Mayyun Island, and regional waters west of the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea about potential sea disturbances.
