King Salman Relief Center Reports Significant Progress in Yemen Mine Clearance

The King Salman Relief Center announced that its mine-clearing project, “Masam,” successfully removed 1,171 landmines during the second week of July 2025. This operation included the extraction of one anti-personnel mine, 46 anti-tank mines, and 1,124 unexploded ordnance from various locations across Yemen.

July Achievements and Overall Impact

With this recent effort, the total number of mines cleared in July has reached 2,730. Since the project’s inception, the total number of mines removed now stands at an impressive 505,466. These mines, which were randomly planted throughout Yemen, pose a significant threat to civilian lives, particularly affecting children, women, and the elderly. The presence of these explosives has instilled fear within local communities.

Humanitarian Goals of the “Masam” Project

The “Masam” initiative represents one of the most significant humanitarian efforts aimed at safeguarding civilians and restoring safe living conditions in villages and cities affected by landmines. The project continues to operate at an accelerated pace, focusing on securing land and alleviating the war’s impact on the population.
