Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan met with the Commander of the Joint Forces for Support of Legitimacy, Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Sulami, along with several military leaders. This meeting focused on the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance security and stability in Yemen, aiming to serve the interests of the Yemeni people.
During the meeting, the Interior Ministry expressed condolences for the recent loss of a Saudi officer and a non-commissioned officer, as well as the injury of a third officer. These brave individuals were attacked while performing their duties in training and supporting Yemeni forces in the First Military Region in Sayoun.
Major General Haidan condemned these cowardly acts of aggression, emphasizing that they do not represent the honorable members of the Yemeni armed forces. He acknowledged the significant role and sacrifices made by the coalition forces in support of the Yemeni people. Haidan reassured that such attacks would not affect the strong relationship between Yemen and the Kingdom, which has been solidified through shared sacrifices and brotherly support.
The Minister praised Saudi Arabia’s prominent role in leading the Arab Coalition’s efforts to support legitimacy in Yemen. He noted that this support has significantly contributed to stabilizing security conditions in the region.
The Interior Minister discussed areas of collaboration between the Joint Forces and the Ministry of Interior, particularly in combating terrorism. He highlighted the importance of enhancing the capabilities of Yemeni security agencies to address various threats facing the region. Haidan called for intensified joint efforts and the exchange of information and expertise to further contribute to security stability. He expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by the Kingdom in various fields, especially in security.
Lieutenant General Al-Sulami reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Yemen in achieving security and stability. He noted that the ongoing cooperation between the two nations stems from their fraternal relations and a mutual desire to enhance regional stability. Al-Sulami expressed hope for continued coordination and collaboration to serve the interests of both nations and ensure sustainable security and stability.
The meeting also included the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Mohammed Salem Bin Aboud.
