In a significant meeting held today in the temporary capital of Aden, Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations with Japan’s Ambassador to Yemen, Younichi Nakashima. The two leaders focused on areas of mutual cooperation, particularly in security training and capacity building for security forces.
Major General Haidan praised the generous support provided by the Japanese government to the Coast Guard. This assistance has significantly improved the Coast Guard’s readiness and capabilities in monitoring coastal areas, protecting territorial waters, and combating smuggling and illegal immigration.
The Interior Minister emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening security cooperation with Japan. He noted that Japan’s support reflects the depth of the bilateral relationship and the robust partnership between the two nations.
Ambassador Nakashima expressed Japan’s pride in the strong ties between the two countries. He reaffirmed the Japanese government’s ongoing support for Yemen across various sectors. Furthermore, he highlighted Japan’s commitment to fostering peace and stability in Yemen, which contributes to regional security and serves the interests of both nations.
This meeting underscores the importance of international collaboration in enhancing security and stability in Yemen, paving the way for a brighter future for both countries.
