During the recent International Conference on Enhancing Global Cooperation in Counter-Terrorism held in Kuwait, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the Minister of Interior, engaged in discussions with his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ahmed El-Amin. The two leaders explored various avenues for security collaboration, focusing on training, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise between their nations.
The meeting also addressed several issues of mutual interest, particularly the need for unified efforts to bolster security in light of both local and international challenges. These challenges include combating extremism, smuggling activities, and transnational crimes. The dialogue emphasized the importance of cooperation in effectively tackling these pressing security concerns.
Attending the meeting were prominent officials, including Dr. Ali Mansour Bin Saffar, Yemen’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Major General Mohammed Musaad Al-Amir, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security and Police, and Major General Ahmed Al-Dhaheri, Director General of Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime. Their presence underscored the significance of this collaboration in enhancing regional security.
This strategic dialogue marks a crucial step towards strengthening the ties between Yemen and Mauritania, fostering a safer environment for both nations amidst ongoing global security threats.
