Gulf Cooperation Council Condemns Attack on East-West Pipeline

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions. This attack involved several drones launched from Iraqi territory, resulting in human injuries and material damage.

Serious Escalation and Threat to Saudi Security

Al-Budaiwi emphasized that this assault represents a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom, as well as the safety of its territory and vital facilities. He described the attack as a blatant violation of international law principles.

Call for Iraqi Government to Take Firm Action

The Secretary-General stressed the necessity for the Iraqi government to exert more efforts and take decisive measures to prevent its territory from being used as a launchpad for such attacks. He urged actions to halt these aggressions and prevent their recurrence, which would contribute to maintaining security and stability in the region and avoiding escalation.

Full Solidarity with Saudi Arabia

Al-Budaiwi reiterated the Gulf Cooperation Council’s unwavering support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He affirmed the Council’s complete backing for all measures and actions taken to protect its security, stability, territory, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
