Yemeni Foreign Minister Meets Moroccan Prime Minister in Rabat

Rabat, Morocco – Dr. Shai’ Mohsen Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch today during his official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. This meeting underscores the strong ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Strengthening Historical Ties

During the meeting, Minister Al-Zandani emphasized the historical relationships and common bonds that unite Yemen and Morocco. He highlighted the importance of building on these connections to foster collaboration across various sectors. The minister pointed out promising opportunities for growth, particularly in economic, agricultural, and fisheries sectors.

Promoting Economic Cooperation

Al-Zandani stressed the need to activate the Business Council between Yemen and Morocco. This initiative aims to structure and enhance cooperation between the two countries. He expressed gratitude for Morocco’s supportive stance towards the Yemeni government and its efforts to achieve security and stability, ultimately alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Moroccan Support for Yemen

In response, Prime Minister Akhannouch praised the upcoming meeting of the Yemeni Joint Ministerial Committee scheduled for tomorrow. He noted that this meeting would include agreements on cooperation in several fields, reflecting a genuine desire to increase coordination and collaboration between the two nations.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Morocco’s unwavering support for Yemen’s political leadership, represented by President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, and endorsed all measures taken to achieve the security and stability that the Yemeni people seek.

Attendees and Diplomatic Presence

The meeting included the presence of Yemen’s Ambassador to Morocco, Azzeddine Al-Asbahi, along with the accompanying delegation of the Foreign Minister. This gathering marks a significant step in reinforcing the diplomatic relations between Yemen and Morocco, paving the way for future collaborations.
