Dr. Sha’ya Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, emphasized the vital role of international support in advancing peace efforts in Yemen. He urged the global community to assist the Yemeni people in overcoming their current challenges.
Minister Al-Zandani made these remarks during interviews with various Italian media outlets, including the official Italian news agency ANSA, RAI television, Channel 3, Radio Rai, Agenzia Nova, and the daily newspaper Corriere della Sera. He also spoke with representatives from the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
The minister highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Yemen and Italy. He discussed the Yemeni government’s commitment to addressing security challenges. Al-Zandani underscored the importance of close cooperation with the international community to combat terrorist attacks carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, which threaten both Yemen’s security and regional stability.
Al-Zandani expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Italian government. He praised Italy’s humanitarian efforts, which provide essential aid to the Yemeni people and help alleviate the suffering caused by the ongoing conflict.
The minister outlined the severe deterioration of the humanitarian situation due to the war ignited by Houthi militias. He pointed out that these militias continue to escalate military actions and commit serious violations against civilians. Such actions exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and hinder peace efforts.
In conclusion, Minister Al-Zandani called for intensified international efforts to support the peace process in Yemen. He stressed the need to hold obstructive parties accountable and to provide necessary support to the legitimate government to ensure security and stability for the Yemeni people.
