Foreign Ministers Meet to Discuss Bilateral Ties
Today, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister. The two leaders focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Yemen and Turkey. They explored various avenues for cooperation that would benefit both nations and their peoples.
Turkey’s Leadership in the Islamic Cooperation Organization
During the meeting, Minister Al-Zandani congratulated Turkey on its current presidency of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He praised Turkey for its excellent hosting and organization of the OIC activities. Al-Zandani expressed his hopes for Turkey’s success in leading the organization and promoting collective Islamic efforts.
Yemen’s Appreciation for Turkey’s Support
Minister Al-Zandani conveyed the Yemeni government’s gratitude for Turkey’s positive and supportive stance towards Yemen. He highlighted Turkey’s assistance in political and humanitarian matters. Al-Zandani emphasized Yemen’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and collaboration with Turkey across various sectors.
Facilitating the Yemeni Community in Turkey
The Yemeni Foreign Minister acknowledged the Turkish government’s efforts in facilitating the lives of the Yemeni community residing in Turkey. He stressed the importance of continuing these efforts, particularly regarding visa issuance, to support Yemeni expatriates.
Turkey’s Commitment to Yemen’s Stability
In response, Minister Fidan reaffirmed Turkey’s unwavering support for Yemen’s unity, security, and stability. He committed to continuing Turkey’s backing of the political process and humanitarian efforts. Fidan also pledged Turkey’s support for Yemen in regional and international forums, aiming to achieve security and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The meeting included the presence of Mohammed Saleh Tareq, Yemen’s Ambassador to Turkey, and the Foreign Minister’s special advisor, Salem Ba’afi. Their participation underscored the importance of this diplomatic dialogue in fostering stronger ties between Yemen and Turkey.
