The Civil Status Center in the Buraiqa district of Aden witnessed the launch of an electronic civil registry this morning. The event featured the presence of Major General Sand Jamil, head of the Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority, alongside Dr. Salah Al-Shobji, the district’s director general.
During the event, Major General Dr. Mohammed Baharoun provided a detailed explanation of the project’s significance. He emphasized that this initiative marks a qualitative leap in personal data management. The electronic registry aims to enhance accuracy, speed, and information security. Furthermore, it will help reduce forgery and establish a modern national database.
Major General Sand Jamil highlighted that this initiative aligns with a comprehensive plan to modernize government facilities. This plan follows directives from Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan. Jamil noted that the electronic registry will streamline the issuance of official documents for citizens, including personal identification cards, birth certificates, marriage licenses, and death certificates.
Dr. Salah Al-Shobji praised the project, affirming the local authority’s support. He described the initiative as a crucial step toward improving administrative services in the district.
The launch event attracted numerous officials and stakeholders from the technical and administrative sectors. Their presence underscores a significant commitment to achieving digital transformation and enhancing government services in Yemen. As the country moves forward, this electronic civil registry represents a vital advancement in public administration.
