During his visit to the Yemeni Embassy in Cairo today, Atef conveyed the warm greetings of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the Egyptian people to President Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the Yemeni populace. This visit underscores Egypt’s commitment to fostering diplomatic relations with Yemen.
Atef reaffirmed that Yemeni unity remains a crucial step toward fulfilling the aspirations of Arab nations for comprehensive unity. He reiterated Egypt’s steadfast support for the Yemeni people’s constitutional legitimacy, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Yemen’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity.
In response, Khaled Bahah, Yemen’s Ambassador to Egypt, expressed pride in the historical relationship between the two nations. He praised Egypt’s sacrifices and support during Yemen’s revolutions in September and October, which ultimately led to the blessed unification on May 22, 1990. This acknowledgment reflects the deep-rooted connections that continue to bind the two countries.
