Director of Security in Aden Calls for Immediate Action on Legal Matters

In a recent meeting, Major General Muthar Ali Naji, the Director of Security in Aden, emphasized the urgent need to escalate morality-related cases to the Public Prosecution without delay. He also stressed the importance of prohibiting the acceptance of waivers in criminal cases, particularly those involving morality, and insisted that releases on bail should only occur through the judiciary and in accordance with legal procedures.

Enhancing Police Performance

The meeting included police department heads and investigation directors from various districts in Aden. Participants discussed the current state of security performance and explored ways to enhance police operations and improve the efficiency of security agencies.

Major General Muthar underscored the necessity of improving the quality of security and professional performance. He called for strict adherence to the tasks assigned by the High Security Committee, led by the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdul Rahman Sheikh. Key directives included:

• Banning the use of motorcycles and providing a grace period for compliance.
• Prohibiting unregistered vehicles and illegal window tinting.
• Imposing a fine of five million riyals and confiscating weapons from individuals who discharge firearms during celebrations.

Strengthening Security Measures

The Director also directed an increase in security vigilance and readiness. He highlighted the need to enhance investigative work, pursue wanted individuals, and uncover criminal activities. Continuous monitoring of performance and accountability for shortcomings were also emphasized.

Updating Rental Agreements for Security

To bolster security measures, Major General Muthar mandated that real estate offices and community committees provide police departments with copies of rental contracts for new tenants, especially single individuals. This initiative aims to update databases and strengthen security protocols.

The Director reiterated the significance of intensified field visits and oversight by the relevant security committee. These efforts will ensure that directives are implemented effectively on the ground.
