Minister of Defense Visits Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Hospital and Key Projects in Shabwa
A Focus on Healthcare and Education
The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Dhaeri, along with Shabwa Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir, visited the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Hospital in the city of Ataq. This hospital, managed by an international company, receives funding from the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works.
During the visit, the Minister praised the hospital’s provision of free medical services and acknowledged the ongoing efforts to enhance its healthcare capabilities.
Advancements in Medical Education
In addition to the hospital visit, Minister Al-Dhaeri and Governor bin Al-Wazir reviewed the progress of the medical college project, which is currently underway with local funding estimated at $1.65 million. The Minister emphasized the project’s significance in strengthening both the medical and educational sectors in the province.
Renewable Energy Initiatives
The delegation also toured a recently completed solar power station, generously supported by the United Arab Emirates. With a production capacity of 53 megawatts, this facility represents a significant advancement in sustainable energy. The Minister commended this achievement and its vital role in stabilizing essential services in the province.
Rapid Urban Development in Shabwa
Minister Al-Dhaeri expressed admiration for the rapid urban development taking place in Shabwa. He noted that this progress reflects the exceptional efforts made by local leadership in the realms of development and reconstruction.
