Focus on Security and Stability

Today, the Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, Major General Mohsen Al-Daari, convened a security meeting in Socotra Archipelago. He was joined by the Governor of Socotra, Raafat Al-Thaqli, who also chairs the local security committee.

The meeting included key officials, such as the Deputy Governors Raed Al-Juraibi and Colonel Saleh Ali, along with the Director of Security, Colonel Ali Al-Daksimi. They discussed the current security situation in the province and the efforts of security and military agencies, supported by local authorities, to maintain peace and stability.

Strengthening Coordination Among Security Forces

During the meeting, the Minister of Defense praised the effective coordination among security and military agencies. He emphasized the importance of their joint efforts to ensure safety in the archipelago. Al-Daari urged all parties to intensify their efforts to bolster stability, highlighting Socotra as a vital tourist destination and a model of safety and development.

He also stressed the need for heightened vigilance against any attempts to smuggle drugs into or through the province, particularly given the increased activity of Houthi militias in this area.

Local Authorities Committed to Security

In response, Governor Al-Thaqli expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Defense’s attention to Socotra. He reaffirmed the local authorities’ commitment to collaborating with security and military forces to ensure the safety, stability, and development of the archipelago.

This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing security measures in Socotra, aiming to create a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.
